Yesterday I had my 3rd knee surgery in 2 years. This time I had a partial anasthesia so I could follow the whole operation which only took about 20 minutes. They repaired my medial meniscus and took away some damaged cartilage on the lateral side.

I decided to pick up my blogspot again. So many people kept bugging me about the fact that I stopped writing. And another reason why I wanna write again is because I'm going for surgery next week. This blog will only be in Dutch.

Since I stopped writing my blog, a lot of people wrote me emails to ask why I stopped and I could read the disappointment through the lines. Apparently a lot of people find it interesting when I eat, sleep, ride, work-out and do whatever. So for all the loyal readers of my blog.......... I decided to pick up the writing!! The last intensive phase of my rehab started today. I visited my orthopaedic surgeon this morning for the first time since the surgery and he was happy with the result of my isokinetic test.
All the hard work is paying off. Getting stronger every week and I don't even have to ride with brace as soon as I hit the water!! So happy about that.. Saves me a lot of trouble! Hopefully I'll be ready to ride again in about 6 weeks!

Tonight the Sport policy document 2009-2012 of my hometown Almere was presented. I was one of the first three 'prominent' citizens who had the honour to receive the Sport policy document from the Alderman of Sport.
